We offer the Kingfisher Electric Kayak for sale on this site and also on Jimskayak.com. We have a fun video to watch showing how the kayak can go backwards, forwards, right, left and stops and starts all hands-free making it possible to fish instead of paddle! My husband is more interested in salmon and steelhead, but he is also always an engineer. I imagine we will be adding kayak equipment, gear, clothes, fishing stuff as he develops his end of the business. He just cannot get his head around my treasures. Be sure to check his kayak out!

WHO WE ARE

Our family moved to the Winchuck River Valley in 1999 with our pack of four dogs and two cats. We immediately created our piece of paradise building a large pond, adding more trees to the property and filling spaces with beautiful bushes, flowers and trees along woodchip paths, arbors and places to sit in the sun or sleep in the shade. We have an Aspen grove that we copied from the San Francisco Botanical Gardens (I actually took a video and measured and counted their trees). We have a hammock sitting in the deep shade of this grove. When you can't find one of us, we might be there!

I have always collected and loved finding new places to find treasures. I soon found myself in town at an antique mall selling and loving every minute of it! It gave purpose to my need to find treasure! I travel 400 miles down to San Francisco area several times a year finding wonderful things on the way. My best friend in San Jose, CA also finds me items at garage and estate sales. Buying and selling is a passion.

I became friends with Elmo and Lorraine Williams, who had retired to Brookings in the 1980's from Hollywood. Elmo was an Oscar-winning movie producer. They had lived in Europe several years; where they amassed a large collection of art and antiques along with movie memorabilia. They asked me to sell their extra pieces for them. You will find many of their treasures right here on our website  in the Antique, China and Pottery, and Movie Memorabillia categories

Born in Oklahoma, Elmo Williams started his career as a film editor in London in 1933. Following his return to America in 1939, he continued working in this capacity until 1952, when he began directing.

He edited, directed and produced such classics as High Noon, The Vikings, The Longest Day, Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, Zorba the Greek, Blue Max and Tora Tora Tora! Among the many awards and prizes he received for his artistic brilliance were two Oscars.

Besides long stints in London and Hollywood, his activities also carried him for extended periods to Munich, Paris, Teheran, Athens, Tokyo and to many other exciting places around the world, as his three-volume autobiography reveals. If you are interested in purchasing his autobiography, please email me and I will forward the request to Elmo. We also sell a collection of letters written by Lorraine Williams, Letters that Hollywood Loved.

In the fall of 2005, I decided to stop my running back and forth to town. I wanted to spend some time in my garden and hiking with my husband and the dogs. I opened up our Winchuck River Store on Ebay.

I am very pleased with my early success and plan to work hard to grow my business. I have attended Ebay University and soon became an eBay Education Specialist.   I started by  presenting my eBay story at our local community college in an existing eBay class. The instructor asked me if I would take over that class since it was apparent that I was more suited to teach eBay than he was.  I attended eBay Live in Boston this past June where I added to my knowledge of how to teach eBay.  I have three listings on www.lookwhosonline.com; which is a directory of local websites from the Brookings, Oregon area.  Three of us put together this idea to promote ourselves along with other entrepenours that we seldom know exist as local businesses that we could access. We have been accepted under the umbrella of our local Chamber of Commerce as a committee. It is all about sharing our experiences for the benefit of others.  I come away from each meeting inspired to improve my internet presence!
